The Paly ½ n ½ Eye Speculum is designed for the balance of surgeon’s needs and patient comfort. The half wire, half solid blade offers the advantage of a wire speculum’s minimal material between the globe and the lid, but spreads out forces on the lid margin and contains eyelashes. A spring feature provides balanced tension to hold the eye open but can be overcome to avoid increased ocular pressure caused when a patient fights a standard speculum. Not available in Canada.
